When I adopted my youngest kitty, he had black boogers. I thought maybe he was dirty and just needed a bath/clean home. I washed him up but the boogers returned, time after time. Now, his eye is infected. I am taking him to the vet for that today...

After Googling (enemy of enemies), I found Feline Leukemia. Now... I am WORRIED! Anyone ever dealt with Feline Leukemia and if so, did your cat have boogers/eye issues?  I have two other kitties that have been exposed to him and the thought of them all having it scares me.

Swanie had black boogers, and still gets them.  Took him the vet shortly after we got him (2005) and she got some green solution and put it in his eyes. Pretty soon the green started coming out his nose.  In that way she said it was just I guess like we get sinus drainage? I forget exactly what whe told us.  He also had an eye infection somewhere along the line.  We treated with drops.  He was fine.

The best thing is to take him to the vet and get him checked out.  Hopefully, it's nothing serious and you will have peace of mind

Most likely, it's "just" an eye issue aggravated by stress of the new environment.  What did the vet say?
