Hello. I have a few questions because my male 3 year old (about, we got him at a shelter as a kitten) cat is acting very abnormally. Normally he is very active, and is also very vocal with everybody. Although he seemed perfectly fine this morning, he started acting different a few hours ago. See, he was sleeping on my bed for a while, and I went go check on him, noticing that there was cat puke on the floor. After cleaning the puke up, I went to him and he seemed very groggy. Also, he never meowed at me. Only when I went to pick him up to carry him into another room.

Once I set him down onto the floor, he seemed to move slowly and still looked groggy/dazed. He used the litterbox, then lay on the bed for a while, acting as if nothing was wrong with him and was rolling around on his back as he was being pet. Afterwards he used the litterbox, but let out a few low meows before going. No, he does not have diarrhea.   At the moment this cat is sleeping on the bed, stretched out and purring.  Does anybody think that something is wrong, or did he just happen to have an upset stomach and should sleep it out?  Thank you

Hi WittyMuffin, and welcome to TCS!

If it were me I'd be taking your boy straight to the vet.  I'm concerned about the grogginess as well as the other symptoms, which could be related to kidneys. Hopefully not, but the sooner you get him there the sooner you'll know.

Keep us posted and good luck

I agree with Mani.  Note that cats purr to calm themselves down, when they're not feeling well or feeling stressed.

Do let us know how it went with the vet.
