Going to dentist for my regular cleaning, but also to talk to him about replacing the fractured tooth I had taken out recently. I have one missing tooth on the other side, so we have to discuss a partial. Actually I've been managing fine without it, but I don't want to risk damaging other teeth. At least a partial is less expensive than an implant, and I know my gums won't handle an implant -- plus my pocketbook can't handle it either! Growing "older' is no fun!

Good luck tomorrow!!

I was at one on Tuesday for a cleaning and a small filling. The cavity wasn't causing me any pain, but it was between my teeth and my dental floss was always getting caught on it, and it wasn't easy to dislodge.

ok - got started, but it was a shock. Seems I need a crown on the tooth next to where the partial attac hes on the right side. That tooth had some damage from decay (which had to be refilled) and it wasn't strong enough to support the partial - anyway, sad news is that the total is around $3,000!!! After they picked me up off the floor I decided I might as well go for broke. He filed down the tooth, put a temporary crown on it, and I go back in 2 weeks to the permanent crown. Then they do the impression for the partial. Never a dull moment! Now I have to be very careful chewing on the temp crown, but maybe I'll lose a few pounds! (got to look at the positive).
