Took Jax to the vet last night after I noticed he was keeping his left eye closed. Charlotte may have whacked him good and the vet said it looks like he had a small puncture in the cornea after doing a dye test. I was given a small tube of terramycin ointment and instructed to give it to him 3 times a day. The vet tech gave him his first does late last night but I been unable to get another dose to him. Wrapping him in a towel hasn't been helping either. Any other tips for doing this on my own? He needs his medication and I don't want his eye to become infected.

Thanks

Just my own personal experience--I had a cat who wouldn't hold still long enough for me to apply the ointment.  I wasted a lot of it trying to get it in her eye! Finally I put some of the ointment on a cotton pad (the flat ones for removing eye makeup, not the balls that have a lot of fibers in them) and wiped it on her eye.  I figured at least some of it would get in her eye that way.  After I'd done that a few times, she started calming down and I was eventually able to apply it directly.

If you can get someone to help you, grab the cat by the nap of the neck, like a momma cat would her kittens.  They can't get very far and thats one way to get this job done.  Need a firm grip though.  Hope this helps!
