Yard control for mosquitoes

Any natural ideas or the safest yard sprays for cats/dogs?  They are insane.  The only standing water was the inflatable pool but it was getting dumped every other day or so.  Yard is not that big at all.  Would be mostly happy if I could get in the 10x6 pool with the puppy without being eaten Windows in the backyard are the cats favorite room to hang in.

I have sensitivities to all kinds of things, but don't have any problems with mosquito coils.  When my boy turned out to be allergic to mosquito bites I would burn them all the time in the enclosure, and I use them myself when I want to lie in the sun with a good book!  Of course they only work while they're burning.
