How far along is my cat?

Four weeks ago, I adopted a cat from a lady. I normally want to adopt from a shelter, but the one were we live only had kittens, older cats and cats that needed to be an only cat. None of those suited us for the moment. The cat I got is a beautiful 10 month old maine coon/holy birman mix. Right after I got her I had to house sit for my mom so I left her at my dad's place, were I live, so she could get comfortable in her new home and meet our other cats.

When I got back, the day before her vet appointment to get spayed, I noticed that her belly was kind of round and firm. I found it strange, because I've never felt a belly like that on a cat before, and I've had cats all my life. I did some research and came to the conclusion that she is pregnant. It was kind of hard to find out because I am a strong believer in spaying/neutering and adopting from shelters. There are so many homeless cats/kitties out there! But I also felt wierd about getting rid of them.

The question now is, how far along is she?

I have no idea! And the lady I bought her from has no idea either. I noticed her belly about a week and a half ago, but since I wasn't home earlier, I have no clue when she started showing.

Here are some pictures I took today. They are not the best, but I hope you can see  the belly good enough.

Any help is appreciated. I have read a LOT about cat pregnancies and labor this last week. It's just hard not to know when somthing is supposed to happen. And I want to be able to take her to the vet if she passes her due date.

I can't feel the babies moving so she can't be seven weeks yet. and I think her belly is to small for her to be that far along.

We cant really know. But it is sure she got mated at the former place, with the lady.

Although you dont need to be much worried she will go too long. A couple of days too long is seldom a problem, but a couple of days too early often is. Kittens dont manage well to be premature, unlike human babies...

So read on, look at youtube, prepare as well you can, and - welcome to the waiting game, you like most others.   :)

Good luck!

UPDATE!

I've felt the baby/babies moving for a few days now so I'm guessing she is about 6-7 weeks along. :)

She is doing really well. Eating and sleeping all day long.

So you are inside the 2-weeks zone now; ie she should deliver in less than 2 w.

Good luck!

UPDATE

Leeloo has been very sleepy and hungry for a few days now and I think the mucus plug is on it's way out. (I googled to see what it's supposed to look like since I've never seen one bofore.) The thing is, she is still eating and I've read the the cat loses her apetite about 24 hours before labor. I don't think she is eating as much as the last few days, but she is eating.

Could she be in labor?

its difficult to say as forum reader, it is so individual!  they can have some precontractions too, so even having some minor contractions doesnt need to say much....

The eating habits is a very vague telltale.

But an observant owner can often decide using her instincts.    :)

Good luck!

UPDATE

Leeloo had her kittens today!

Two boys and a girl. One boy is completely white and one is white and black. the girl is also black and white.

Everything went well, but she was a little nervous and I had to help her dry the kittens and making sure she wouldn't leave them. (she tried several times.)

She's been taking care of them really well after they were all born and now they are sleeping. :)
