I'm getting a kitten names biscuit ! Originally I thought biscuit came from a litter of 3. Yesterday I found out that the litter was 5 . One died at birth , and the other 24 hours later . Apparently one of the 3 is "premature" biscuits foster mom said biscuit and her brother are very active and playful! But I'm scared that something can happen to biscuit . I'm I just being paranoid ?

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
When it's a large litter from what was likely a malnourished mom during her pregnancy, sadly, it's not at all unusual for some of the kitties to succumb to fading kitten syndrome. :( :rbheart: If Biscuit and her brother are very playful and active, I expect you needn't worry. :heart2: :rub:

They are very cute. Biscuit is adorable.

The best thing you are doing is waiting until she is old enough to come home. Her health will be stable and you will worry a lot less!

We took 3 siblings at 7 weeks...our smallest female is the weakest of the 3, she was the runt. She has had the toughest time but she is a real fighter.

The only reason we adopted them so early was to keep them from having to spend time in a shelter. When they were born the momma cat could not feed them (she was a stray picked up and brought to a shelter where she delivered 3 kittens) So they were then bottle fed by a volunteer who works at our Vet's Clinic. She brought them to work, fed them round the clock, and finally weaned them ...we had already decided to adopt them...with the blessing of our Vet who checked them out, she felt we would be their best chance ...they were way behind in size...instead of in a shelter. So we took them on.

It is much more worrisome to take them on before they are really ready to go, like 12 weeks...Cami has just completed 10 days of antibiotics. Now she started with diarrhea and we have to correct that with some probiotics! Always something!

All this just to explain why I know waiting is hard but peace of mind will be worth it when Biscuit is bigger, has a healthy vet check and shots and WORMED!
