Hi Everyone.  A very good friend of mine, someone that is one of the best cat moms I know, posted this on Twitter today.  I wouldn't normally then come here to re-post it, however, considering that I know her so well, and also know that her circle of cat peeps are loving, concerned owners I decided to put the signal out here also, just in case.  She herself runs a blog about her cats which is worth taking a look at if so inclined

Anyway, over at another blog "Savannahs Paw Tracks" you'll see that Leo, a very handsome ginger boy, is a special needs kitty.  He has quite a few challenging issues, having had fatty liver disease, however, after looking at the videos provided, I can see that essentially he's a friendly cat, but as the bio says, one which needs a caring home well versed in cat care.  One that can give him a stable environment, be patient with him along the way and dedicate themselves to his particular requirements.

Currently, he is in foster care with them and they have nursed him back to health and they are trying hard to find an appropriate home for him as they feel he would be better suited as a solo kitty.  They are caring for him until they are able to do this; they are not asking for financial or medical help - they just want to be able to get him placed in a good home, one which will commit to his health and well being for the long haul.  You'll easily see this from their blog, which has been running for a long time and has many followers.

I don't know if anyone here specifically will be able to help, I'm just pushing his info out into the world to help him find a place where he can finally settle down (you'll see what I mean when you read this).

Thanks for at least taking a look.  Leo, his caretakers and all his well wishers thank you.

BTW, we'd seriously consider it, but a) we already have 2 cats and b) they want someone in the San Francisco Bay area in order to lessen the stress of relocating him.

I read his "bio", and it's really too bad they don't think they can keep him, especially since he's bonded with the Dad, and they think he got HL due to his separation anxiety.  That's going to be tricky, for certain.

Hope it all works out for little Leo.

I know.  I think it's because they foster so many other cats, and he doesn't do as well as being a single kitty who can get all the needed attention for himself; which means a calmer household overall.  I have a feeling they would never give him up, if they aren't able to find him a good home - but would love to be able to get him into one which will be beneficial for him for the long term.

It's a shame he's so far away from us (NJ) because honestly, while we do have the 2 cats already, our house is pretty low key and perhaps it would have worked - as is my friends also but, she's down in Florida so that's a no go too.

I really hope they find someone.  He looks like a sweetie in spite of his problems.
