My beloved pedigree Burmese cat Eva was struck and killed by a car ten days ago after escaping from the house. I haven't stopped crying since. It was the day before her 2nd birthday. In the past two years I have gone through the toughest time of my life. I've lost both my parents and gone though a marriage breakdown. I've sat on the floor and contemplated suicide. All the way through was a tiny brown cat shouting at me for love ans attention. She was the constant in my life, and one thing I could rely on. She never hissed or growled once in her life, and slept in the bed next to me every night. My wife and I are devastated. The German Shepherd sits by the cat flap all day.

A very small cat has left a massive hole in our lives. Thank you Eva. I would not be alive today but for your constant love and devotion. I wanted to spend the next 15 years showing you how grateful I was but it was not to be. I miss you so much. I love you so very much, and I will carry you in my heart forever.

Here is my tribute video. I hope it conveys something of the love I had for this beautiful cat.

I'm so very sorry to hear the tragic news. My condolences on your loss. Eva was such a beauty, and her personality really shines through in those pictures. We have one of your threads "stuck" at the top of this forum, and it has given so many people consolation, myself included. I hope you can find some here and in the good memories you have of the time you shared with Eva.

RIP, little Eva.

l'm so sorry. You've had an awful time from what you've said, and this latest episode of losing Eva is the last thing you need.

Your video tribute to Eva was so moving, and you could see she was a little love bug

So

Three weeks after losing Eva to the Road we lost Neo to the same road. We're both devastated and wondering what the hell is next.

Oh, no. I'm so sorry. It's tragic that you'd lose both cats so close in time. Was Neo out looking for Eva, do you think?

Oh noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am devastated for you. I just can't believe it - you must be in complete shock. I am so, so, so sorry.

Eva was beautiful, and your tribute had me in tears. As Susan said, you can see she was a little love bug. I guess Eva needed Neo more than you did, that's the only explanation I have. :bawling:

:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: to you and your wife during this incredibly difficult time. :heart2:

I buried Neo with Eva. They will sleep in each other's company forever, in the shadow of an oak tree in the middle of a field buzzing with life.

gareth gareth , my belated condolences for the loss of your beautiful Eva and Neo.
I have just found this thread, following some other links, and landed here.
Your Eva was gorgeous and I can fully understand you when you say she was your once in a lifetime cat. Everyone of us has had their once in a lifetime cat. I had my Lola, my sweet Lola. I watched your video tribute and I found many similarities in the look of Eva and Lola. Same look in the eyes, same pose in the pics. The way she looked at you and stayed with you is just the same that I knew for my Lola. What you tell of her is not new to me, sometimes it sounded like you were describing my cat.
Not a single day goes without me thinking of her at least 100 times. She loved me beyond imagination, I loved her the same way and I will always love her and I will never forget her until I die.

I'm sorry you had to lose her so young and in such a terrible way. I'm sorry you had to go through the same heartbreaking pain twice in a short period of time.
I love my other cat too, but she's not Lola, she doesn't answer me, she is a different cat, she's more independent.
Our once in a lifetime cats take more than half our hearts away when they leave us, our life can't be the same anymore.

RIP beautiful Eva!

Gareth, I lost my little girl in 2012, and my beloved Burt a few months ago. They, too, are together once more.
I pray you have moved forward in your life, your little ones are at peace and will always follow your life path for the rest of your life. These horrible roads take more than our loved ones, they change our lives forever. But you know by now the bond you share with these precious babies can never be taken from you, and that they would never want you to be so sad because of them. Share that legacy of love they left you, and bring joy and happiness back into you life, for that is what they want most for the one they loved above all else, just as you would want for them. I hope the years have brought you some relief from the sharp edges of grief, I know what it does to the soul and can only pray to learn how to live a new life's order without them in it.Take care, and know you have many here who care and empathize with you, you are not alone on your journey........RIP precious Eva and Neo. You will never be forgotten and together you will spend eternity in a special place in loving hearts. May the good Lord bless and keep you both, until you meet your loved ones again. Good night, sleep tight, little ones!

We all, humans and other creatures, faces risks. Either from the spiders in the jungle or from daily things that turn into lethal weapons. Supposing no civilization ever appear, some of us and some of ours cats would anyway finish life sooner than expected. That is the price we pay for enjoying the Life. We enjoy the meal, but the meal ends, we pay and leave. But we still remember the taste of a good meal.

The same with our cat companions: we enjoy being together, then either their earthly path or our comes to the end. But we honor their presence in our lives and smile when remember.

Milk drops and sardines here to remember, hugs.
