Help. I just spotted a flea on my 9 week pregnant cat. I have an "Advocate" spot on flea and worm treatment that I had from the vet and had been using on her before knowing about the pregnancy...(about 5 weeks ago) Is it safe to use it on her now?

Please help.

I looked it up some, best was the Swedish pharma-medical base  FASS, they do also have medicines for animals.

They didnt said much about pregnants, so they didnt forbade, but hadnt clear recommendations for no or yes.

Although not recommended for kittens below 9 weeks.

To compare: The similiar product Revolution/Stronghold may be used om pregnants, and on kittens 6v+.

I interpret this, if you are desperate and the cat heavy infested; the emergency has no law, use Advocate on your high preg but pray to God.

But if you arent desperate, I wouldnt not recommend it.

Try take it manually if you dont get other approved preparates.

If she isnt heavy infested manually could be enough.

Good luck!

Thank you. Yes, I think that's what I'll do. I've never noticed her scratching or being bothered at all and I only saw 1 and searched for more. I did manage to remove that one before she got annoyed at me for rummaging in her fur.

I'll hold tight and check with the vet if I see any more after the kittens are born.

Thanks so much for your help.
