Old lurker, new poster!

Hi, I finally created an account and joined - I am a happy mama to two sweet kittens, Pike and Aurora.  I call them kittens because they never grew out of the cuddle phase, but they are nearly 4 years old now.

I joined to commiserate and swap stories with others dealing with a UTI, my poor Pike has one and is very uncomfortable now.  We have antibiotics and a prescribed diet, but she and I are not enjoying medicine time much.  However, I am glad she is on the road to recovery, Aurora has been pacing circles around her sister in concern and we're all a little anxious for Pike to get better.

I am looking forward to learning more from all of the knowledgeable, passionate cat lovers on the forums - I have owned cats all my life but was not very educated until recently.

Hello MLiz.. Really glad you introduced yourself..

I'm sure if you've been lurking for a while that you've found info about UTIs on the health thread.. and you can always post there for advice.  Poor little Pike

( I confess  I was the same way.  I actually had lurked occasionally on here for years before I joined. ) 

 I hope your dear little Pike will be much better soon.     I had a cat who used to have urinary tract problems and I know how miserable it can make them.  Fortunately , after I switched him to high protein/ low carb wet diet for another health issue,  that solved his problems with this too.   Wish I had known that years earlier!
