Two of my cats were at the vet the other day and the vet said it looked like they have resorptive lesions. They just turned 5 this month. One of them has had some dental problems for a while- gum inflammation (redness at the edges) and a lot of plaque on his teeth for his age. I am really worried about the prospect of resorption, although I looked at photos online and their teeth/gums look nothing like those at all, so I'm not sure.

However I am trying to see if there are any supplements or treatments that might help with the plaque and keep their mouths healthier. All four of my cats are littermates and they seem to be prone to immune issues (allergies, EGC, etc...)

Didn't the dentist make recommendations?  Brush everyday, etc.  I know there are all kinds of washes, and chews and toothpastes and even new "top of the line" kibble that are all supposed to help with oral health, but I honestly don't know if any of them do any good if they have inherently bad teeth

I've had some cats live their entire lives and never need a dental, then had other cats who needed them by age one
, so I really do think it's not so much their care, but it's their genetics

Hoping that by bumping this up, someone else will chime in and give their two cents

No we were at the vet for other reasons, the vet just mentioned their teeth in passing on examination. She didn't make any suggestions except to say that Blaze will probably need a dental within the next year. She recommended Petzlife gel previously for his plaque issues, which I was using before but he hates the taste so it's hard to get him to let me apply it very often.
