Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but I'm wondering is the Peppermit Soap would be in any way harmful to cats.  I'm inclined to think - probably - but thought I would ask

Dr. Bronner Organic Castile Soap Peppermint 64 Fluid Ounces Liquid

Product Label

Super mild Castile has outstanding water softening & cleansing powers. Preferable to harsh soap & defattening synthetics. It does not cut dirt, but dissolves it.

Directions

To use as a body wash, pour several drops onto your hands, washcloth or sponge. Then lather up, scrub down and rinse off. To wash your hair, apply several drops to wet hair and massage into your scalp. Rinse well and follow with the Citrus Conditioning Hair Rinse. You can also dilute one-part soap into 40 parts water for light cleaning. Use it full strength for heavy-duty jobs. To clean your laundry use 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup for one regular load; adjust as needed depending on the hardness of your water. Adding a dash of baking soda makes it even better.

I've used it around my cats with caution in the past but no longer use it.  I never had any known problems, I also know someone else who has used it around multiple cats for several years, but peppermint oil(like other essential oils) is on the list of toxic substances for cats so I wouldn't recommend it.  I miss the smell of that stuff; it made house cleaning an energizing experience.  I currently use vinegar(ech, absolutely hate the smell), baking soda, and peroxide for our cleaning needs.

I know there's a "baby mild" Dr. Bronner's soap that might be worth looking into.  If I remember correctly, it's just castile soap without any essential oils.

Thanks. I know essential oils are bad for cats and i figured that would be considered an essential oil, but it sounded interesting.  I, too, hate the smell of vinegar to clean with.
