Hi guys...my Tintin is 1 year and 2 months. After much hesitation I got her spayed on May 29. After a couple of days of throwing up and not eating and using her litter multiple times within a couple of minutes I took her to the vet. They gave her fluid replacements, B12 shot, appetite stimulant, pain killers, and a convenia shot due to possible reaction to surgery and now a uti. Now she eats well and she is peeing normal. I have noticed that she eats and sleeps or lies around a lot and hardly plays. She is also very cautious about her jumping. I read a post with many similarities and they referred to it as zombie kittie. The most worrying symptom I have noticed is that she shakes in her sleep or while she is resting. The shaking/trembling or it could be seizures occur on her face, ears, legs, pretty much everywhere. For a while I noticed pale gums but they are back to a pink color. Has anyone else experienced this with convenia or could it be something else? The only reason why I haven't taken her back to the vet is because she seemed to be doing better but I am not so sure anymore.

First,I-highly-recommend,you-find-another-vet.

They-are-treating-her-for-a-wide-variety-of-issues,without-evening-trying-to-find-out,what-the-issue-is,as-in,we-will-give-her-a-bunch-of-meds,and-one-might-work.

When-you-took-her-back-in,what-tests-did-they-do?

How-do-you-know,or-why-were-you-told,she-has-a-UTI?

What-pain-meds-was-she-given?

Why-was-she-given-a-B12-shot?

Write-this-in-big-letters-on-your-refridgerator......DO-NOT-**EVER**-let-your-cat-be-given-a-Convenia-shot.

It-is-an-antibiotic,but-not-a-cross-the-board-antibiotic.The-problem-is,as-with-any-antibiotic,or-any-drug-given,if-the-kitty-has-a-reaction-to-it,you-just-stop-giving-it.Once-the-shot-is-in-there,and-the-kitty-has-a-reaction,you-are-sca-rood.It-also-stays-in-the-system-for-2-months,not-10-days,as-you-are-told.

Now im starting to worry. My rescue cat is 16 months old started acting ill a few days ago.  At 1st i assumed she had gotten a cold from a shelter cat, who is 7-8 weeks old,  we adopted.  I took the new baby to the vet and she was treated and sent home. I was told she had a virus and could possibly give it to my 16 month old cat.  Well, both cats didnt act any better so i took them back to the vet on Thursday, and the older one was given Convenia.  She played a little when she got home, but since hasnt eaten much, i dont think she has drank much either and all she does is lay around, and not even in her favorite areas. She is also still coughing what sounds like she has a hair ball, but nothing is coming up.   I even tried wet foot and cat milk to no avail. I was told i should see an improvement in 24-48 hours. Now all she does is lay around. Im on the fence of waiting a few days to see if any improvement or take her tomorrow to vet. Any ideas?

I would call your vet and inform them of the reaction.

Thanks. Ended up taking her back and her Lungs sounded terrible. I questioned the convenia and was told it couldn't be a reaction but she would get a short acting antibiotic with a steroid as well as nebulizer. So sent her home and we have been doing nebulizer treatments at home. I will reevaluate tomorrow and go from there. There's no reversal for convenia so I will make sure she doesn't get it again regardless.
