Wasn't sure where to put this. I've already posted it in the ferals forum but no one has answered. I guess I'm just worried because we've had Schofield to the vet's twice lately for odd behavior. He'll stop eating and sleeps a lot more than usual. Blood tests are normal, as is everything else, per the vet."Anyone aware of this condition? Schofield has it. I noticed the small bump at the end of his sternum but thought it was a tick, then maybe a cyst. The vet said it's genetic. Just wondering if there are any other conditions or problems associated with it. The small tab of bone at the bottom of his sternum bends out. You can't really see it but you can feel it."

What did the Vet call it?  Is there not a name for this...it's not "flat chested kitten syndrome" is it?  If so, there are a couple of threads on TCS with people who have kitties with that.  Otherwise, I am not familiar with anything with this description, sorry.

The vet didn't name it. He only said the defect was genetic. I got abnormal sternum from an article in Cat Fanciers Magazine online. Schofield doesn't appear to have the flat chest or inverted sternum but I'll try to find those posts. Thanks!
