I have looked after Harry since he was 6 weeks old. He is now 14. On Thursday we noticed him bumping into furniture and falling off the pavement. The vet advised that he was blind and may not adjust very easily because from what I was able to tell him , the blindness had come on very suddenly. Harry has had his eyes fill wtih blood on 3 occasions in the last months and the vet has said that such symtoms are due to old age and a weakness in the blood vessels.
My message here is in the hope that someone is able to offer advise on how to help Harry to readjust to his disability...having had him out tonight on a dog harness and a lead he looked absolutely miserable. Any advise or suggestions of alternative treatment that will not break the bank would be most welcome.
Thankyou

I'm really sorry to hear about ur cat Harry becoming blind. I don't have much experience with blind cats but I do have some friends who are blind so here's one thing they have mentioned that help make blind people's lives easier and I think these can apply to blind cats (??
)
Try not to move things around too much - have Harry check the rooms out and get familiar with things then hopefully, he will stop bumping into furntiure but that means u and ur family need to try to keep things in the same place.

That's the only thing I can think of... If I think of something else, I will add it to this..

Good luck and keep us posted!
