duck jerky treats

Hi, can someone tell me why rice flour is bad? I got some duck recipe jerky sticks for dogs as treats to make my AWSSUL stay still for grooming. She loved it. She is more calmer with this treat. The hard Purina Deli-Cat makes both my cat too hyper- they also freak out. Become aggressive with catnip treats. So much so grooming is frustration for us both.
But what is wrong with the new duck jerky stick.? It firms the stool and I thought will balance the new raw diet of chicken. Also I only give the Real Duck jerky for grooming every day. And She just jaws it, breaking off a few pea sized chucks.

Cats are obligate carnivors so do not digest grains well. If she doesn't get sick it is not a huge deal to give as a treat once in a while IMO though it does not provide a health benefit. But they do sell all meat treats now and most cats are obsessed with freeze dried meat treats so you can try those to.

What are all the ingredients for the duck jerky stick? And where is it made? I would be very careful with jerky treats, especially made for dogs. Most have fillers that are not appropriate for cats. Also, dog jerky treats are high on the recalls list. A lot of them are manufactured in China, and since the melamine scandal, most people are afraid of the lack of quality control in the pet food industry in China.

Hi and thanks
I will probably throw out the PetKing : Duck, glycerine, rice flour , soy & potassium sorbate
I do want good nutritional daily treats. So it sound like from the advice given. Meats with out grains are OK. For the new ragdoll kitten
The occasional bones are what, to my surprise (Awssul ) devoured the chicken shoulder blade. I was surprised. She had eaten a dinner, prior. I still lightly cook & fine chop raw chicken. She also helped herself to My GG cat's lentil bean sauce. For lunch she had 1/2 of a whole raw egg. She's about 7.5 lbs. (about 3.5 kg) hair and all. :)

The best "treats" I know of are the freeze-dried meats and organs like Whole Life or Pure Bites.
