We took the Dyson to Sears a couple weeks ago to have another new hose put on. We've had this vacuum a good ten years and I think this will be the fourth hose.
Well, they called and told us there was other stuff wrong and to fix the whole vacuum, it would cost about $400. For that price, we'll buy a new vacuum. And that's what Rick told them. He told them to just replace the hose and let it go.
About three days later, they called again. Rick said, no, just replace the hose and bring it back.
And they called again this past weekend. And Rick said replace the hose and bring it back.
Yesterday, they called again....this is the fourth time they called. Rick said NO, REPLACE THE HOSE AND BRING IT BACK. He also said he was tired of their constant phone calls. Just put a new hose on it, bring it back to the store.
So....because we're not doing anything other than replacing the hose, they refuse to fix it.....period. If we don't have it all fixed, they won't do anything. Rick said, fine, bring it back to the store and we'll pick it up. He was angry and told them so. All we want is a new hose. They want to put new brushes, new belts, etc. "Routine maintenance" is what they call it. For $400. That's not going to happen.
I am not a happy camper. I'm going to call a vacuum repair service and see if we can get a hose installed that way. If not, we'll have to buy another vacuum cleaner. (But I can pretty much guarantee it won't be a Dyson. I love my Dyson, but they don't have good hoses.)
And I'm not happy with Sears. The last time we took the Dyson in (for a hose), when we got it back, there was a large chip broken out of the bottom of the Dyson. We obviously didn't do it and it wasn't like that when we took it in. Plus, the darn broken chip was in the bag with the Dyson when they returned it. We argued and argued to no avail. They didn't break it; it was our fault. We put it in the car wrong (but the guy at Sears put it in the car, not us). And so on.
I'm peeved.
