We adopted a 4.5yr Ragdoll from the animal shelter (RSPCA Brisbane). The previous owners had found him and then had to surrender after 6 months for "Inappropriate Toileting". I found and joined this site about a week ago as I thought there would a lot of knowledge and input on solutions to help address his behavour. I started a thread about his 'preference for pooping on blankets' so I look forward to hearing suggestions to help our new cat, Leroy Brown settle in!

Thank you. I hope we can beat his attraction to blankets to poop upon!

Hi. What a pretty cat. Have you posted this to the cat behavior forum. Someone there might have some tips for you.

Oh, he's beautiful. On the inappropriate pooping. Does he pee in the box? If so and you only have one box, he may be one of those fastidious cats who need a box for peeing and another one for pooping. Add another box and see how that works. Bury his poop in one of the boxes to give him a clue that that is where he need to deposit his "presents." :)

You might also try a product called Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract. It has a smell that tells cats to "go here.". Add it to the cat litter. You can also use it as the litter. It's a little pricey but once he gets the idea, you can slowly replace it with the regular litter.

This is your offical "Hi" from me, penalex, after lots of chatting on your other thread.

He is absolutely gorgeous... I'm so glad you have him, as sometimes cats are shuffled around from home to home and it just makes the problem so much worse.

From what you've been saying, things are getting better, and you know we love to help here if you need suggestions

Here's the thread if anyone wants to catch up on how things are going in the toilet department
