I have KeeKee on Friskies dried. She was a wild outside cat.

I I used to raise Cornish Rex for years. They NEVER farted at all! Never!

I changed her to wild Blue food, no change.

She is running around playing with everything, just as loving as ever except she STINKS!

Help!

Love, Alva

Dry food often causes problems with indigestion because cats are obligate carnivores and can only digest meat. See http://catinfo.org which is written by a vet who is an expert on feline nutrition. I would suggest switching to a wet or raw food diet to fix the gas problem. Also make sure she is not eating too quickly.

Is she properly dewormed?  Twice?

Worms are often the cause of bad farts.

Smell from the behind as such may often be infected anal glands.

Good luck!

I wormed her twice when she first came inside, that was a year ago.

I still have worm medicine I will worm her again.

She doesn't smell from behind unless she farts.

Thank you!

Hey! Maybe the worm medicine was no good.

I gave her regular worm medicine from the pet store and a tape worm pill just in case. What brand worm medicine is the best not from a Vet and where can I buy it?

Thanks,

Alva

I don't know if you need to worm her again since she's been inside only for a year.

I would agree with Franksmom at looking at her diet. Dry food is often made of poor quality ingredients with fillers that cats have no nutritional need for. This is most likely not agreeing with her system and causing digestive distress.

A round of good strong probiotics (at least a month) should help put her digestive system back on track. Not pet probiotics but something good and strong made for humans. The kind grown on goat milk seem to be quite tasty so sprinkling it on her food should work.

But also make sure she gets at least some wet food. Check out www.catinfo.org for more on that.
