Hi all,

I have read to feed a kitten as much as they would eat. My kitten is roughly 6months now and I was wondering when I can cut down to feeding him just twice a day?  I am raw feeding him with some wet food. Also read to feed him only 3% of his body weight.. so do I divide that into small amounts throughout the day? or can I just split it into 2 meals?

Cats do better on smaller, more frequent meals. I would do at least 3 meals a day (before work, after work, before bed). What percentage of body weight are you feeding now? I wouldn't do a drastic drop. He's still growing.

I started with free feeding dry food, so was not able to monitor how much he was eating

When I swapped him over to canned food, I was feeding him 2.5 cans of wet food.. (200 grams)

3% of his weight is roughly the same. (160gm) but I don't have a scale so I am not sure how much I am feeding.. (I go estimating if it looks like can size ><)
