 Hello to everyone!

I just joined this site so I could read and chat with other people that love cats, too. I have had cats all my life (55 years), and at this time have 5 indoor kitties and 2 outdoor kitties. All of the cats in my life have been rescued either from the local shelter or as strays brought indoors to be furever indoor pets. Yesterday I brought a pregnant mama that I named Buttermilk, because of her color, indoors and she definitely has a "gamma" personality! She was a stray and I am a sucker for a sweet kitty, especially seeing that she is pregnant. I am presently working with a local TNR group to round up all the strays and have them neutered/spayed, but I cannot spay Buttermilk yet because she is so pregnant, and I can't bear the thought of killing her kittens before they are born. She has to be the most laid-back cat I have ever met. I have her isolated from the the others, in my bedroom, and she seems to really love being indoors. She has not bothered anything in my room, and prefers to just rest and take it easy on my bed and on the cat bed I made for her with pillows. She is the most loving cat I have ever had experience with and would rather be loved than to eat her food. I have been educating myself on feline pregnancy with the help of the Internet and everyone here, also. I have not had a pregnant cat except once when I was 5 years old, so I have been reading nonstop since I saw her breed. I am expecting kittens around July 20th. Any and all advise is welcome, and of course I have been reading the forums here to learn all that I can. I can tell from the forums that this is an awesome community and I am proud to become a member!

Hello to you and Buttermilk and the 7 kitties!
May Buttermilk have a safe delivery and bless you for your work in helping the strays in your area.

Thanks for taking in Buttermilk and for your work with TNR. TNR is so needed, especially in cities. Our new kitten is one who was living on the streets of north Philly when my son nabbed him. He told me there were about a dozen cats living in this vacant lot, including a litter of six-week old kittens.
