We have been feeding a very sweet homeless cat in the yard of our apartment building for months. My husband is very allergic to cats, so we have been unable to bring her inside, but she would very clearly like us - or anyone loving - to adopt her. She is playful and affectionate, loves to talk, and appears healthy. She loves to be pet, and lets me lift her onto my lap. We have been trying for weeks to find her a good home or a pleasant cat sanctuary where she can live safely, but the only place we've found is a 3 hour drive. There must be someplace closer to Jerusalem where we are -- the JSPCA has not been helpful on the phone, but I'm thinking of just taking her there and seeing if she will get some help that way in person. I have access to a carrier, and she will come to me with no problem when I call.
I am heartsick at the thought of abandoning her on the streets, but the majority of the cat rescue organizations that I can find online all appear to be in northern Israel - does anyone know of rescue groups in or close to Jerusalem??? This cat will make a wonderful pet... please help me with information!
