Sudden whole body itching

My 3.5 year old boy Lou ran down the staira today like he saw a ghost! He stopped dead very suddenly and began intensely licking his sides and scratching his face. Then he bolted again and stopped suddenly and scratched and licked again. This lasted probably 5
Minutes and has happened probably 5
Times today!! We just moved to a new house in the woods.. With lots of bugs and I'm terrified he may have gotten bitten by a spider or something. He doesn't seem to be swelling anywhere, he seems a bit sleepier than normal (or maybe I'm just imagining it!?) but he is eating..
Any ideas or suggestions as to what it might be!? Anyone else have this experience with this?!

He might have gotten some ants. Those little tiny black ones. I saw a bunch of them a few days ago when I was taking a bath. I live in the woods, too.

He also might have tangled with a wasp. Check the upstairs very carefully. Look and listen both. Do you have an attic? Is it accessible to Lou?
