You need to take him to a vet ASAP. Thread can become wrapped around their tongue, could be why he is constantly licking his lips. Also it becomes mangled in the intestines.

Licking lips is a sign of feeling sick. If your kitten doesn't eat, he will become very sick if he isn't already. It sounds like he is in pain and this is not normal at all. Please take your kitten to a vet as soon as you possibly can.

This does warrant the vet asap. I have heard of other cats doing this and the string was wrapped around their tongue. This really could be an emergency at this point. OH so sorry. MEGA MEGA vibes and please report back. :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

String/thread, they don't intentionally eat it, but if it gets licked to check it out, a cats tongue has tiny scoopers to enable them to drink, etc and if it gets on their tongue, they WILL end up ingesting it, whether they want to or not.

If your cat is not eating, licking lips and crying, he likely is not going to digest it.

What happens is, as it travels through the very long winding, twisting intestines it also twists, and his body trying to process it so it becomes tighter and tighter, eventually needing emergency surgery to remove it.

Without surgery, this cat may very well have choked off the blood flow to a specific part of the intestines, causing the tissue to die, which causes the cat to become gravely ill, and can die.

Not to forget what a horrific, painful way to die.

I certainly hope you can get him seen immediately.

In the future, ALWAYS be very aware of strings or thread dropped on the floor. Even Christmas tree tinsel, I have seen this happen as well.

Good luck!
