The stray mama cat that found us two weeks ago has yet to deliver her babies though every day, it is a wonder how she can get any larger, yet seems to. This is obviously not her first litter, as her age is approximated at 4-5 years old.

Here she is on the 17th
On the 20th
and today, the 22nd.
The only change I notice today is you can see one really pink nipple today (near her right back leg) and the hair is not covering it up. Other nipples are also more noticeable, but not quite as much or as pink. We are on the count down, just when is a matter of speculation.

We obviously overstated thinking she was close. She has been here 23 days now and never did we think she would still be without kittens born. Poor thing is waddling to walk and stands with her hind legs spread apart to balance the load!

She did eat this morning but I have not seen her eat at all the rest of the day (she has free choice). But I have also been outside in the yard a lot so I could have missed her. Her big tummy seems about as distended as it can get. Still good kitten movement in there. They just aren't ready yet. One and possibly two have a forever home once they are ready (10+weeks). I am hoping she doesn't have too many.

Thanks for checking in on us.

I wish for 3, but there are at least 4-5. My spouse thinks at least 5.

Have you done this before?  Just wondering - it's not my area, but you'll get good advice here if you ask

We have taken pregnant cats in before but our last one was about 5 years ago, so it has been awhile. Our last one, we had her about 5 weeks before kittens were born. This one is just over 3 weeks, so we really don't know her well and what her non pregnant personality is like. This cat is older than our last pregnant one, who was under a year or right at when she delivered, and was her first litter. That gal is 4-5 and not her first litter, I am sure. But it will be her last :)
