Hello. I've never been here before and I don't own a cat. I've had cats before and they were indoor cats. My next door neighbors have a lot of cats that they just let run wild and breed. I've tried explaining that I spend too much time and money on my yard to have their cats use it as a litter box. My neighbors aren't the brightest people and don't even mow the lawn, so they could care less about mine. I've tried three different repellents, but nothing works. I'm at my wits end. I don't understand why cats are allowed to roam free while my dog has to be on a leash.Ok, I do understand, dogs can bite. But I had to clean up when my dog went to the bathroom and I didn't let him do it in the neighbors yard. My dog passed away a few months ago so I thought I'd have a clean yard. Wrong!! The next step is to trap them and have animal control pick them up. I am not a cat hater, but I'm starting to lean that way. It's just so frustrating. Can anyone help me?? I just want my yard back! Thanks!

Hi first of all I am sorry you have irresponsible owners next door to you. They give all good cat owners bad names. I have a lot of cats and they were feral at one time, so they are inside outside cats. My one neighbor farmer has a beautiful garden, and my cats were going in his garden. This was not fair to him, so I went out and bought him this deterrent I had heard about called a Scarecrow. Worked like a champ and he ended up buying two more (he has over a 3 acre garden) Now the cats either go in our woods, or our property, which is fine by us.

Here is the link:

Scarecrow

If your neighbor has a lot of cats and are neglecting them as well, you can call a rescue group near you and report him.

Thanks for your reply. I've seen these types of motion detectors but, call me crazy, I didn't want to pay that much for a problem that I didn't cause. Although, when you add up the price for all the other repellents, I've probably spent that much anyway! It's wonderful that you did that for your neighbor. I wish mine were like that.
