Hi Norachan, I came to hear the good news of George to return to his mom... Please do not lose hope so soon...Miracles do happen and keep the faith please....I know it is difficult as time passes but don't lose hope...

It was very difficult for me to come to terms that my Henry is no more...Even my vet was sad when he heard..because he knew the struggle he faced due to his spinal injury and he recovered as well but death was sure to come.....For the past one and half month it was very difficult for me without him....Also though we had prayers for his soul to rest in peace still his soul is with me...many strange things happened. But I pray he rests in peace and moves forward in his another journey of life cycle.

My younger cat molu is a wild cat now..Only comes at midnight to eat his food. He has recently got an ear infection and his ear is swollen and red I have brought medicine from vet but he doesn't stay at home so I can only wait for the night to give him medicines.

Norachan please don't lose hope for George...I pray he comes back soon...I had told you earlier one of my cat was lost and he found his way back after 5 years....so be positive...the precious beautiful George will return.

Hi Winkie,

It's good to hear from you again. It's a long hard process getting over the loss of a beloved pet like Henry. I hope he has a much longer. safer life next time around.

I still think about George all the time. I'm going to be moving house in a few months and I have mixed feelings about that. Part of me is excited about owning my own house for the first time but part of me keeps thinking "What if.....?" Even though our new place is less than half an hour's drive from here moving to a new house feels like closing the book on George.

The new place is going to be much safer for our cats as I'll be able to make a huge, fenced in garden for them. It's such a shame that it's going to be too late for George and his friend Zebedee. But Zebedee's mother and sister and George's mother and sisters will be coming with me. I'll be able to give them the proper care they deserve and hopefully I'll never lose another cat that way.

I hope your sweet Molu gets better soon.

You're a special person Winkie.

Dear Norachan..I have no words to express my sadness on your missing child...specially when you are changing the house...I will start special prayers for his return soon...you still have few months to go and even a moment of time is enough for a miracle to happen....he might return...and I do believe.

And before you change the house do request the new owners to inform you if they see your boy around...But first let me start the prayers for dear George.. and hope God will have mercy on us and send him back to us soon....Love to your cats..Take care.

I've been reading about all the kitty's , how sad. My boy has been gone for 3 1/2 weeks and I'm devastated. I've done everything to get him back but no one has seen him he has just vanished . He had such a big personality he was my life. I'm hoping he'll be back one day but everyday I wake up and think I have to face another day not knowing why he is gone :(

I know how you feel tabby7 Princess will have been gone a year as of next month...I still haven't stopped grieving she disappeared and I keep asking myself why did she leave me, what did i do to deserve this, because part of me feels she's still alive and out there some where. She was more than my life she was the only thing that kept me believing life was worth living and now I'm stuck in endless depression...at one point I thought that getting another bobtail would help, but Sage only reminds me of Princess and now pregnant baby Sage and her unborn kits are my world but ill never forget princess. I hope you find him;) Never give up!:)

Don't give up hope yet, I have had one come back after 5 months, my co-workers cat was gone for 17 days in the freezing 2 degree winter. He may be hiding. I will pray he comes back to you. Put signs at your local stores if any are close by.I also put signs at the local vet offices and got a lot of calls that way too.

I'm so sorry he has gone missing. I know how you feel, it's heartbreaking to have your cat just disappear without a trace.

I hope he comes home.

That one year mark is really tough, isn't it?

I don't think it matters how many other cats you have in your life, you can't ever forget that special one.

When are Sage's kittens due?

Around June 18 is when Sage is due...but yes the year has been tough on me, I'm afraid I will never be able to move on...Princess and I had an unbreakable bond and it shattered my heart when she went missing we literally screamed her name outside, we tore apart the house, we put up fliers, offered a 250 dollar reward for her but still no Princess...it is my only hope that she returns, instead of me worring everyday that the same could happen to Sage. I've had three cats in a row with almost the same personality. Princess was the first, in her time with me came another kit spunky little Friskies, who acted like Princess(except for the simple fact that she didnt nurse on my ears like princess, and she was a bit of a more friendly to everyone kind of cat...but unfortunately Friskies was hit by a car which shattered her leg and spine and she was put to sleep. Sage has a personality that seems to be a mixture of the two with her own crazy twist...it's all to strange. But anyways I've never felt so lifeless so full of sorrow, because I can't move on, even though Sage has made me feel better, brightening my day, I will never forget Princess.
So to all those who are missing the cats of your lives I truly hope you will find them:)

I've read all the articles to help find lost cats, door knocked , letterbox dropped flyers and offered a $200 reward in the newspaper. I've walked the streets day and night calling and tapping a tin of food, and nothing. I think I see my kitty everywhere I look. I'm trying to stay positive but it's wearing really thin. I'm exhausted mentally. Ahh but tomorrow's another day.

Well it's one month today since my boy has gone missing. No sightings at all. It was so lonely in the house without him that I adopted a young female kitty from the local shelter. She is beautiful but not a replacement for my boy . At least she has a nice loving home now. I'm still out looking everyday, hoping and waiting.

Tabby7, I know exactly how you feel. I remember going through the first week and then the first month without George and getting more and more desperate as time passed.

If you haven't done so already I recommend getting a trail camera, a camera that automatically takes a photo every time something passes in front of it, and setting up a feeding station and the camera in a secluded place not far from your home. Sometimes cats get chased or scared out of their regular territory and then can't find their way back home again. It's possible that your boy is still around, just too disorientated to find his way home.

There is a yahoo group called missing cat assistance that you can join too. They have lots of good advice on things you can do to find a missing cat and there may be other people in your neighbourhood looking for their cats, so you could help each other. It's always good to have a bit of moral support.

Good for you for adopting another needy cat. If nothing else good comes out of this situation at least you have given her a good home.

For me the hardest part of losing one of my feral cats, is the not knowing what has happened. If it is any comfort, I manage a colony of 50+ feral cats, and yearly one or two "newcomers" show up at the colony. The colony decides if the cat will be allowed to stay, and as long as the newcomer is not mean or just a fighter by nature, they will let the newcomer stay.

I have about seven of these cats in the colony. Information about them has been posted in case someone is looking for them. So, it is possible he has joined a colony, and is being cared for.

Once a stray showed up at my house and started eating with the colony cats. He was inside/outside every day and was never confined. One day he was laying out on my driveway when a lady drove by, stopped and said, "that is my cat"..I have been looking for him for over three months!! She lived on the same block as me, just five houses down!!! Can you imagine? Why he never went home, I have no idea, but it was a happy reunion for both.

So, try to keep good thoughts, while taking small steps to let go, just in case. I cannot ever describe to anyone the pain that comes when a loved fur ball just goes missing. You have my total empathy. I will send good thoughts your way and hope that one day he will return.

Hi Supermax,

That's a nice story. I always wonder if George found a feral colony to join. There are so many stray cats around here and lots of people leave food out for them. He could have just moved off and started hanging out somewhere else.

Your colony sounds awesome. I care for around 25 TNR kitties and that keeps me busy.

Have you seen our Friends of Ferals thread? You could tell us more about your colony here.

Lizzy has gone missing again.

This is the third time. The first time she was gone for ten days in the snow. Then she went AWOL for 3 days in March. This time it's been over 48 hours, I haven't seen her since Thursday morning. She's usually out all the time but comes around to eat two or three times a day.

I wonder where she goes? I've checked all the barns and garages around here just in case she's got herself shut in.

I'm SO looking forward to moving into our new place with the huge fenced in garden. I start to panic every time one of them disappears.

There are 50+ in my feral colony. Each one is like one of my children, and when one goes missing I always panic. I have learned though, that some simply do wander, and then show up looking as if they have just been gone a couple of minutes.

Three days of being gone seems to be the most normal. So, I just work really hard with my emotions not to get panicked until the end of three days. Sounds as if Lizzy is going to be one of the "wanderers". You have my empathy, and I am  sending a little prayer for her to return soon.

Thank you Supermax. You were right!

Lizzie just strolled in through the open patio window, demanding hugs and her favourite treats. Sometimes I think the only reason she takes off is because she knows she's going to get a lot of attention when she gets back.

Clever girl.
