Tornadoes, floods, and wildfires-- so much human (and animal) suffering going on. A heartbreaking story from CNN about a woman whose home was lost in Katrina. She re-located to just outside Colorado Springs, and had her home devoured in the Black Canyon wildfire. Really sad beyond words.

We saw some shocking pictures of the damage in nearby Canmore on the Weather Network this morning. It's hard to believe how powerful the water can be, and these aren't places you expect to get flooding. My friend's brother lives in Calgary and he said it was calm there this morning and people are starting to deal with the cleanup. Hopefully no more lives lost, but I know there were some people missing.

It seems to be never ending with all the flooding lately!

It's really crazy all over. What's going on in India is unbelievable. It's monsoon season, but the amount of flooding and the number of lives lost there just boggle the mind.
Flood Toll Reaches 1,000 in India as Thousands More Await Rescue
Wow, that's shocking! I'm sad to admit that that's the first I've heard of these floods. Calgary has been dominating the news here. It's weird that the flooding hit in such a mountainous area. You expect it on the floodplains and close to sea level, but up in the mountains like that you'd think they'd be pretty safe from massive floods like that.
