Is my cat albino?

This is an interesting one, as, from my limited knowledge, albinos will have red eyes, due to the lack of pigment, but they can also be pale blue.  So it seems likely he could be.

What does you vet say?  Is he an inside only cat?  It's important to keep him away from sun as he'll be more prone than most to skin cancer.

He's a rather beautiful boy!  And he has a very relaxed way of sitting ..

A true genetic albino has pink eyes, like the eyes of a 'white' mouse. The pinkness is the lack of pigment, so that the capillaries in the iris are the only color. They are bred to be a 'pure' strain that has no pigment or variation. The pale blue eyes that your cat has are fairly common. The red flashes you get from his eyes are indirect reflections of the retinas. My cat, Sheba, has blue eyes and reflects like that. (see the album on my profile page).
