I've not been on the forum in a while, and this really isn't the way I would have chosen to post again.  Many of the older member of TCS had a fondness for Mischief, and I felt you all should know.  The new morning brought sadness to the tribe.

Sometime during the night, Mischief Mistoffolees passed away. I found him this morning under the bed on his pillow. It looks as though it were peaceful   He had a checkup a couple months ago and was declared relatively healthy, but showing his age. Mischief came home from the BG/WC Humane Society on September 4th, 2003. His was a unique spirit, a mix of street-wise ex-stray and loving lap-cat, and would always let new kittens sleep snuggling with his tail like a doting dad. I'm going to miss him very, very much.

Mike, I'm so sorry. You've shared so many stories and pictures of Mischief over the years that we probably all feel like we knew him "in person". Of course you and the gang are going to miss him terribly. RIP, Mischief. I'll bet little Freeway was right there to greet you when you closed your eyes.

Mike, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.  There is a huge gap in the tribe now, I'm sure.

How could anyone forget such an aptly named cat? I still remember the Cheezburger photo of him with the skull. RIP Mischief. :rbheart:
:hugs: to you Mike. That must've been such a shock to find him passed when there was no sign of trouble. At least his passing was a peaceful one, and his life with you and the Jellicle tribe a very happy one.

I'm so sorry about Mischief. He sounds like he was quite the character. He has left a big hole in your heart.

Thank you everyone :)

Saturday the shelter where I found Mischief held a memorial ride for 2 volunteers who were killed in a car crash 9 years ago.  Our next to last stop was at the shelter, and while I was there, in Mischief's memory I sponsored part of the adoption fee on a lovely little black girl they called Aretha.  It seemed the most fitting thing to do.

That was a great idea, Mike! Black kittens, not to mention adult cats, can have a tough time finding a home, and you've greatly increased Aretha's chances. Mischief would certainly approve!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I do remember Mischief from your pics - particularly the one with the skull. I'm glad you found something so wonderful to do in his memory.

i'm  new here.i am soo sorry for your loss.i came here because I had to put my Shayna to sleep last Thurs.June 20th at 4pm. She was one of the two I rescued at 10 wks old.She looked just like your boy.i'm computer illerate and don't know how to put her pic up.But she was black with those same beautiful green/gold eyes. She was 16 and 1/2 and I still have her sister here(Punim) and we are grieving together.I miss Shayna sooo much she slept with me everynight. She was a trooper.Diagnosed w diabetes @ 13 and I had 2 give her insulin twice a day. Then Feb. of this year she was diagnosed with a mass in her abdomen and not a candidate for surgery.I gave her love as always and baby food.until last week when she wouldn't/couldn.t eat anymore. This was so hard, but of course we don't want our babies to suffer.

Mike, I'm so sorry you lost your Mischief but if he had to go it's good that it was so peacefully. :rbheart: Play happily with all those babies over the Rainbow Bridge, Mischief. :rbheart:
