My 23 year old cat passed away last night on my birthday so I'll never forget.
She had lost the muscle tone in her hind legs and could hardly walk in the end kept on falling over. The vet suspected failing kidneys. She died next to us peacefully.
She is buried next to her sister in the garden.
We miss her so much. A huge hole in our life now. Absolutely heartbroken.
Sophie RIP

I'm so sorry.  What a long life she had, I know she must have been much loved and well cared for.

My condolences. Twenty-three years is a long time to share your life and love with a pet, and you must really feel her loss. RIP, Sophie.

Thanks Rosiemac.
Yes 23 years is a long time. Her sister Chloe lived till 18 which is a good age too. She died in her sleep with Sophie with her at the time.
It obviously helped having Sophie to love and care for after her death but now the house is so empty. We would never have any more now. We were lucky at the time as we had my in laws living round the corner to look after them.
Every morning I wake up it hits me all over again. The pain is so raw but I know time will heal but the hole will always be there.
I look out at the bottom of the garden and I know she is there with Chloe and Junior our first ever cat. All buried next to each other.
I hope your cats live to a good age. Cherish them.
Linda
