My cat is 2 yrs old and has chronic kidney failure. We administer a subcut drip 3 times a week and she has a special renal diet. I know from her blood works she is anaemic but apparently in Qatar we can't have access to the necessary medication. I noticed she has been obsessively licking the tiles in my bedroom and I'm sure that is it. The poor soul is in and out if the vet having tablets and paste everyday. She was doing so well and now dropped again after eating the other cats food. But since we got rid of the other food she has been eating her diet and is wasting away.

Any help or advice would be amazing.

Hi lunalove, I have asked the mods to split your post into a new thread so that you can get more answers. You have replied on an old thread.

Wow, 2 years old is very young to have kidney disease. Was there some kind of injury or toxic substance ingested? What kind of renal food is she on? Any medications at all, either for the kidney or anemia?

What was the other food she got into that caused a problem and what were those symptoms? What do you mean by wasting away? Is she losing weight, acting lethargy, etc.?

My first thought was "2 years old!" Poor kitty, she's so young to be suffering from this.
So is she losing weight despite being on a good diet?
