No, still no cans have been involved (thank goodness!)

My 9 Kitties go through at least 3 cases of the big EVO cans per month.

I just called Natura's 800 number,

they said ALL Natura Dry products with dates prior to June 10, 2014 are included in the recall

I have been feeding Precise Holistic, PetGuard* and Kirkland's (Costco) since the recalls began.

Recently, 3 of them decided to completely refuse to eat the PetGuard,

so I won't buy it again. They love the PH, but it is (of course) the most expensive of the 3.

I got the information to submit a Refund Claim.

Send the following:

Your Name, address, phone number, along with the Name of the Product(s),

UPC code, Date Code & Expiration date, and Receipt (If available) to:

Natura Pet Products
Attn: Amy
8700 Mason Montgomery Rd.
Box 1534
Mason, OH 45040

I no longer have most of the bags,

but I do have receipts for 4 Bags of CN and 1 bag of EVO -

I will call PFD first, but if they won't give me a credit,

I'll send copies of the receipts to Natura and hope for the best.

I got an email today about it from my local pet store, they are dropping all Natura pet brands dry foods due to the repeated recalls. I don't feed their dry food although I have in the past.

UGH! I just saw this and am really questioning if this has anything to do with what happened to my foster kittens a few weeks ago. Because they could not find anything wrong with them, and I was feeding the now recalled EVO dry. They were 4 6 week old kittens, they had Conjunctivitis when I got them. They were on meds and doing really well for a week and a few days. Conjunctivitis was gone.  They had been wormed and were They were transitioning to EVO turkey & chicken for cats and kittens from the Purina that the clinic I was fostering for had given me. Then I started seeing some loose stools. On day 11 they were all fine, and an hour later 1 had watery stools all over herself, was lethargic and close to death. Rushed her to the e-vet and besides still having a few worms, they could not find a cause. Said she had low blood sugar due to watery stools. Tuesday we were all back at the clinic I was fostering for. They decided to keep the 4 kittens there and have one of the vet techs foster them since the 1 kitten was still not doing as well as she should be. She died that night. A 2nd kitten died 2 days later and a 3rd died the day after that. As far as I know, the 4th kitten is still alive. They tested the 2nd kitten for everything parasitic and all common kitten illnesses when it got sick, but all turned up negative. They had all been wormed again, so that wasn't it. They tested the 3rd kitten for everything after it died, all negative. Who knows what it could have been, as they were orphaned ferals and so young, but this makes me wonder if it was the food. I still have half the bag and it is in the new recall.

I can call tomorrow and find out about the 4th kitten, I was planning on it anyways since I want to let the clinic know about the recalled food. I have not checked up on him since last week because honestly, I am so heartbroken over these sweet babies that I don't even want to know if he passed :(

**edit to add that they were also getting wet EVO as well, and not all of them were loving the dry food, so it's possible that if it was the food, that the one that passed first was eating more dry than wet. I really don't remember which kittens were more into wet vs dry.

Regarding the wet food being affected. I don't see how it's possible for properly canned foods to have salmonella as it's killed by being heated to 140 degrees for 12 minutes. And as someone who pressure cans, I know that meat is canned for much longer than 12 minutes and at much higher temps than 140 degrees. I mean shoot water boils at 212 and pressure canners generally get up in the 250 range.

Yes, it's not possible for properly canned, sealed food to have salmonella, because it's heated and sealed so bacteria can't get in, not run all over icky equipment like dry food is. Plus they usually have the canning operations at a different plant altogether. If canned food is contaminated, it's a bad ingredient, not bacteria.

Think this is it for natura!! I have been warned over and over that since proctor and gamble took it over things are not the same and that 's by reputable  pet stores and MY OWN KNOWLEDGE of P&G and how they test on animals. Besides that  i did not listen but wanted to see things from my own eyes. SURE DO NOW!!!! They should have cleaned up their mess the first go around or from what I hear they are using bad chicken etc so the Salmonella.  .using  cheap goods to make  their products!!!! Good bye . I'll find someone new.
