As some of you know I had to get rid of some of my cats, 4 were put to sleep. The pain was/is overwhelming however, my daughter and I now volunteer every saturday at PetSmart with a cat rescue group called United Humanitarians. They rescue cats/kittens (trap,spay/neuter etcc..) and then put them up for adoption. I didn't think I could handle it at first (I would want to take them all home with me) but it has been truly rewarding.

Just this past Saturday I was able to adopt out 8 cats!!YEY!! It has been good for my daughter as well. She grooms that cats, cleans cages and meets wonderful pet owners.

I just wanted to share with anyone who is having a tough time to find out about volunteering with animals, it is truly rewarding.

This doesn't actually belong in Crossing the Bridge, since you are helping cats in need, how about I put you in SOS

You are so sweet for volunteering at the adoption clinic! Just think of all the wonderful kitties you can help save!! You found a silver lining in that dark cloud of yours!

That is great to hear. I would like to do something like that. I applyed at the local SPCA but haven't heard anything yet. I wish I could take in all the kitties, but helping them in any way is a good thing too. :angel2:
