Hello,
I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself and my mama to be (and I guess one that will never be a moma, yeah)
In my neighborhood, we have a lady who has many cats that breed indiscriminately. Not all of them are completely feral, as she has a cat door on her enclosed back porch. They do have some human socialization. That said, over the years, we have ended up with 5 of her cats, two of which are newbies here within the last month. In the past 6 months, other neighbors and I have trapped some of the cats (one in heat female was a treat to catch) and have taken them to a low cost birth control clinic roughly 20 miles from our town. The stitches are dissolving, so after 48 hours, we release the cats to go "home". We have seem too many little young ones get hit by cars, disappear, and just breed.
Back in May, a very young female offspring from the cat lady colony stole her way into our next door neighbor's house. After much effort, she was extracted. With end of school year stuff with three teens, we had her three weeks before we had her fixed. In that time, she has wormed her way into our hearts. Instead of releasing her back to the colony of cats, she will remain here, if she desires. She is now learning to be an indoor/outdoor cat but much prefers indoors. My plants just can't take much more! We definitely have to play with her to release her energy or she is destructive. She is a sweet cat but not lovable. She likes to lie and be petted first thing in the morning but don't hold her back for long. She's busy. A great wily hunter. She has a fascination with drinking from faucets, getting in the shower with you, etc.
This is Katze (Cat-Za). She has the van pattern and personality but not the eye color, hair type or body type. She is our wild child. She is UNDER the table. That is Big Mama on the table and couch.
The day we had Katze fixed, that evening, a very pregnant mama cat, again a torti (torbie) came sauntering up the driveway. She is super sweet velcro kitty. She has been here two weeks Wednesday. She showed some outwardly different behaviors tonight and so I thought tonight might be the night, but alas, as I type, she sleeps. The jumping kittens in her belly have also quieted down.
I think I will join her and slumber. Good night to all the midwives.
