I just got back from a yoga class with my favorite teacher. I can't believe what I get out of this class. I could be having a stressful morning and after I take his class I want to walk outside and say "Who needs a hug?" Lol.

What makes you happy when you're having a hard day?

Kitty love works wonders too

Yoga is great for de-stressing.  I miss my favorite instructor, as she moved out of state.

So, now I do my yoga at home, with Rodney Yee dvds.

Hiking is another way I like to de-stress.   I used to do it more frequently, but my hiking buddies are now run-around-like-no-head-chickens mommies.

Gaming (pen, paper, dice) is another pastime that I enjoy.  It's more of a social/escapist de-stresser.  Nothing like a little dinner and monster hunting to while away the time.

Hot shower with the dogs gated off(otherwise they both sit in a tiny bathroom with puppy offering me her toys into shower)  Beer on the ledge:) Usually turn the lights off except one far away light so get jsut a glow.  That has always been my thing.  But if my shower gets interrupted I feel more tense.

Watching music videos on youtube is great to

My kitties like to visit me in the shower too.Grover sticks his paws in the shower and Bailey brings  a toy and plays in the bathroom while he waits for me to finish.

Ben liked to come in, he would hop in the tub and then get angry he was getting wet and run out.  Now he likes to hang on the toilet seat, having a clear shower curtain helped him decide this too:)  When I got Ryan he would smack the water going down the curtain-so many holes got put in that I had to cage him to shower.  They are funny!

Going to zumba class definitely makes my week since I go twice a week. Also listening to music and cuddling with the kitties and dogs.

Not suprisingly yoga does it for me, but my particular way of creating a great state of mind is chanting/singing mantra.
