Sorry for the graphic content - My cat had an anal examination done on Friday the 14th.  When we came home her anus looked very raw and it was bleeding.  She kept trying to poop and little bits came out but it continued to look raw and bleed.  Saturday it still looked raw, but I haven't seen any blood..she looked like she was improving a bit but it seems like she's having trouble controlling her bowel movements.  This morning it looks like the tip of a poop is about to come out but no more blood...she's not trying to get it out but she's aware of it being there.  Its odd but her anus still looks a bit larger than normal.

My vet is closed today.  Is it normal for this to happen after an anal examination?  I should say that the reason she got the examination is because there is always bloody mucus at the end of her poops and the vet diagnosed her with irritable bowel syndrome.

She leaves marks on everything she sits on and I know that she can't help it, but it needs to stop.  Did the vet possibly do something wrong?  Please help!

Even though they are closed have you tried calling the number? Is she is not in pain I would take her in first thing in AM.  Ca you put her in a bathroom or some easily cleaned room till then with her litter, food and water, blanket and some toys?

I have had a cat get exam but it was cause they needed to know if there was swelling inside as there was on the outside.  He never had any issues after it though.  Is there a chance something was eaten like a string?  That could cause pain further up and not wanting to go due to pulling.
