I made my way through through the entire Dark Tower series and it wasn't easy. When I got to the end of the series, had it not been in the dead of winter when I finished (and the pool was frozen over), I would have thrown every single one of those books into the pool. I was so frustrated. And I am a huge King fan.

Let's see. Right now, I'm reading two books by James Rollins:

Soul's Gate

Sandstorm

Both are quite good.

The main character is named "Jack Reacher". He's a retired military cop who travels the US with nothing but the clothes on his back and a toothbrush in his pocket.  During his travels he finds mystery and intrigue and works to right the wrongs, sometimes helping the police and sometimes as a vigilante helping the helpless or victims.

The books are action packed, and well written.

I recommend reading them in the order they were written.

I re-read the fifty shades trilogy, loved it, and am now reading Dear Life: Stories by Alice Munro.

If anyone likes science fiction I adored Wool Omnibus Edition by Hugh Howey and am saving Shift Omnibus Edition for a special time. These remind me of the old great sci fi writers.

I also enjoyed This Is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz.

Thanks for the lead on these other books! I love reading.

I really appreciate these threads because I've discovered new authors and so many books that I didn't know about, or wouldn't have read otherwise.

In fact, almost half of my favourite authors comes from these book threads, and now I regularly search for new releases from them.

I'm reading the Pine Deep trilogy by Jonathon Maberry, he is known for the young adult Rot and Ruin books and the amazing Joe Ledger novels. I just finished the second book last night, the first one was kind of slow but well written, the second one really started getting weird and I expect the third to be much more action packed. Pine Deep delves into the paranormal which I am a fan of.

I also read a lot of manga, I just finished Death Note by writer Tsugumi Ohba and manga artist Takeshi Obata.

I recently tried reading Jurassic Park and I just couldn't do it, I felt like it was punishment to read it so I stopped and I seldom give up on a book.

For the library book club I go to- this month's theme was the Booker prize.  So I read The Life of Pi.  It was- different.  That ending though- oh my.

The 2 books I took out from the library right now are Sophie Kinsella "I've Got Your Number" and James Patterson 2nd Chance.  I've read the Shopaholic series- it's kind of cute but can be kind of repetitive.  From the discussion on Goodreads this series is kind of repetitive too.  I've never read a Patterson novel, kind of curious how they are.  A couple of the ladies at the library club have- so I'll ask them- or if anyone here has read any of his books let me know how you liked them.

Before that I read Notorious Nineteen.  Same old, same old.  I guess I just read the series now b/c I've read the other 18 Stephanie Plum books, and I kind of like Lula.  Grandma Mazur was kind of funny at first too.

Right now I'm reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower series - book 7 - The Dark Tower. It's the second time I've read the series (actually the 3rd time for books 1,2, & 3: I read those 3 all those years ago when they first came out, and after finishing the 3rd one without being able to go on to the 4th one cuz it wasn't written yet, I swore I wasn't going to finish reading the series till SK finished it!). In some ways, I think it was SK's best work - although there were some things about it that irritated me...

What kind are you looking for?
Can you read ePub books with your eReader?

I have a large collection of books. Some biography, lots of #1 best selling authors such as James Patterson, Lee Child, Catherine Coulter, Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell, Robin Cook, Maeve Binchy and many more that I can't recall off the top of my head.

Both of my nooks read epub as the native format. I have a collection of about 10,000 e-books.

I have finished all the Robert Rankin I have and am now reading To Kill A Mockingbird. One of those books you swear you have read, but is unfamiliar when you start reading it.

I'm reading the first of the game of thrones series...I am really obsessed, love the storyline even though I think there are so many characters that it goes kind of slow. I love the show too but until season 4 comes out I plan to go through the books.

Same here! If anyone needs any books let me know the author and title and I'll check if I have it. I have a huge collection and there is a high chance that I have it..I read from my ipad and just open epub files in ibooks.
