I have thought for a while that my cat is pregnant because she has a large&hard stomach, her nipples are pink, she is wanting to be alone and her appertite is up and down lately, but i want to start preparing a place for her to have the kittens and am not sure when she is dew. All i really know is the signs she is showing. Anouther reason is i might be going away for the weekend in a couple of week but i have the choice to stay.

so how many weeks would you say she is? Should i go and possible miss the birth?

I am thankfull for and help i can get, thanks xx

Have you any idea when she may have mated? If not have you seen any signs of movement in her tummy?
With regard to preparation, is there any particular place she has been going to recently that is dark, warm and quiet?
Have you got a room or cupboard that you could set up a nesting area that is quiet, perhaps a spare room or bathroom, that doesn't get a lot of traffic.
You need to get a couple of boxes and line them with some newspaper and either old sheets, blankets or towels, that she can start nest building. I'm sure one of the more senior members if the site will be able to post the links to some of the necessary items that are suggested as good items to have ready for the birthing.

Usually a fortnight before they give birth you will see movement, another sign is the hair around her teats will disappear.

Hope this helps abit.

Thanks so much for your help :) I am certain she has mated because there was a male cat who followed her everywhere and now its like he's vanishid as soon as she started getting bigger (talk about bad dads lol)

When i go to bed i keep my cat in a down stairs toilet which i made her room kinda thing lol but she enjoys going in a cobourd where we keep the shoes so i will set up two nests for her.

cant wait for the kittens lol thanks for you help, means alot :) x

No worries, questions and answers are what each of us are here for. Can I ask where do you live? Are you USA, Canada, UK or else where?

With these hormon changes and changes in the body and  also changes in the psyche, you never know what will fell out.

It is surely more common they become more cuddly to their owner, but they are no automatos...

Are you sure she dont have some problem in her back?  Like something aching, being sensible for touch?

Good luck!
