so my older cat's eye is really water eye and she has it semi- open she squints is a lot idk wats wrong her eye doesnt look swollen or anything not even red she has a lil but of mucus on the end would eye drops suffice i dont have money do take her to the vet so i think thats the best i could do 

wish i could do more

It could be anything from herpes virus to allergies.

DO NOT USE EYE DROPS, they are for humans not cats. 

Your best bet of course is to see a vet.  Meanwhile, I would clean her eyes with a damp washcloth; if it is seasonal allergies, close the doors to keep the pollen out.

If she starts sneezing or notice discharge from the eyes/nose, it could be herpes; and then you really really need to see a vet.  Meanwhile, L-lysine will help the underlying problem.

Good point about a poke in the eye--watch for any excalating symptoms.

The cheapest place to get l-lysine is in Amazon probably. 

Here is a thread about l-lysine and herpes, although, as I mentioned, we really don't know what's going on, and none of us (especially me!) are vets.
