Hey All,

I'd like to get some assistance in identifying any possible breed my cat may be. Some distinctive characteristics that I've picked up (in comparison with my other cats):

1. Her front legs are shorter than the back legs (and also shorter than my other cat's front legs).

2. Her ears are a bit wider and more sharper/pointier than my other cats.

3. She's got a distinctive pink nose whereas my other cats don't.

4. She's extremely playful - and enjoys when you play with her.

5. She's got an unusual thick coat. Normally, when she runs out in the rain, she is soaking wet but after drying her I notice that the outer hairs are wet but the skin is dry as can be (the water never penetrates through her fur). The hairs on her coat is about the same length as my other cats (so I assume a shorthair).

6. She likes to explore and sleep inside/on top of things e.g. instead of sleeping on the bed, she'll sleep on top of my bag/jacket/on the chair/try to climb inside my bag and sleep there.

I've included some pictures of her - hoping someone out there could give me an idea of the type of cat she can be. We got her as a stray cat and took her in. I don't know what her parents looks like and its the first time in my 25 years that I've seen a cat like this one.

She is a beautiful Domestic Shorthair or Moggie (as they are affectionately called). There is no telling what genetic mix she came from, as some recessive genes can pop up generations later. The characteristics are a combination of all of her ancestors all the way back to the African Wild Cat.

Do you still have her? I have a cat identical and it is not rare to find a cat tuxedo colored. My male Simon is very popular when i look him up online. He is a bobtail though, which may be manx. I dont know much about cats but you can sometimes tell by the hair type. Good luck.  I will send a picture in later today.

Almost all cats do have shorter forelegs compared to back legs.  But yours seems to have quite short legs, shorter than average, not in Munchkin class, but almost.

May be some inbreeding.

Others said it already, domestic shorthair, in the tuxedo pattern and colors.

She's beautiful. Petco sells DNA kits for cats if you're really curious. I'm planning to test my newest fur baby. I think he's Egyptian Mua.
