Well, I vowed I would not foster anymore (it just really stresses my cats). But a friend pulled kittens from a terrible colony (lady would feed but not fix, you can imagine that nightmare!) and that was that.
There were at least two calico mommies having babies, so we do not think the two I got are siblings. One is solid black. His eyes have just started turning green. His name is "Hesu." Our vet is of Chinese descent and I asked her how to say "black" in Chinese. So that's his name. He's a fiesty little dude who is still not sure if this is a good situation. He'll let me pick him up and will accept pets but he launches as soon as I go to put him down. He's also the one who plays with the ping-pong balls at 2 am!
The other, Bianca, is long-haired and all white, with a narrow, triangular Siamese face and pale grey ears and tail. She also has one green eye and one blue eye. She was sick for a bit. She's stopped eating and had liquid poops, so I had to dropper feeder her for two days. The vet gave me some medicine for the loose poops and both of them get dosed twice a day.
So far, neither of them has URI or any other symptoms and their combo tests were negative, too. They are in my bathroom and today, for the first time, I heard them playing together. Our bathroom is usually a cat-free zone, so our daily toilette has changed considerably. Bless my husband's heart. He gets up at 4 am and always sends me a report about them when he gets to work.
I am usually up at 6, although that's another vow I broke when I retired. I swore I would sleep in! Ha!!!!
Pictures to follow as soon as I can corner the little buggers to take a few!
