Hi, I've just found and joined the site. I have a mini-herd of four cats; Cleopatra and Baby, two tabby sisters I've had since they were born behind my television when I was in high school, and Jack and Jill, adopted from a coworker and abandoned on my front porch as kittens respectively.

Looking forward to learning and communicating with other cat lovers here!

Welcome to TSC, jrupp88. You will find lots of cat lovers here, that's for sure. :) We like pictures and we all like to brag about our fur babies.

Thank you! I'll be posting pictures soon, once my Jack is feeling a bit better.

Though my herd may be cut down soon, my sister might be able to take Cleo back soon and I'm looking for a home for Jill - she is desperately trying to be an outside cat and I live too close to a busy street to be comfortable with that.

If you own your home, you might be able to build a catio- a wired or screened in area so that cats can go outside. Someone here on TCS used a large crate on a table that she hooked into a window for a feral she wanted to acclimate to being an inside kitty. The cat could come and go as he pleased and I believe made a successful adjustment.

A crate on a balcony or porch could work, too, but you'd have to carry her back and forth to it.

She comes out on the balcony with me, but refuses to come inside. I have to shoo her in or physically move her in. If she is left out (which has happened at night because she is black and its hard to see her) she will jump of the porch into some bushes and then hides under neighbors' cars, which is also very scary as most don't check under cars. My apartment manager doesn't want me to install mesh on the porch to prevent this. They also call animal control if they see animals outside unattended - collars and tags or not. As moving isn't a financial option right now I'm trying to find her somewhere safer that she might be happier. I also don't think she likes having to fight for attention, as she is smallish and less demanding than my other kitties.

The weird thing is she was happily indoors until she got out on accident the first time. Now she wants outside as much as possible. I've caught get sneaking out as i enter the apartment several times.
