On June 4th Mimi died suddenly. She let out a horrible meow,I heard a loud thump, ran into the kitchen and she was lying on her side with her eyes wide open and her body trembling.Several minutes later she was gone.I have so much guilt.I accidently kicked her in bed days earlier but she was fine. She was lying under the table in my Uncle's room for about a week but came out to eat and slept with me on my pillow at night.I haven't stopped crying.

I am so sorry and you have nothing to feel guilty about.  If being accidently stepped on or kicked would be fatal to a cat very few of us would have a cat that would make it out of the very young kitten stage.  Cats can have many of the same things that can cause sudden death in humans, things like blood clots, strokes or heart attacks.  None of us want those things to happen but they do and older cats, like humans, are more prone to them.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mimi. But I don't think you had any blame. Like Denice said above, all of our cats are prone to being accidentally stepped on - they are always underfoot --- but it sounds like she might have had a stroke or something of that nature. Be happy for the 14 years you had with her and know that now she is romping in Rainbow Bridge with all of our babies.

:yeah:
I'm very sorry for your loss. Hopefully it's some consolation that she went so suddenly and didn't suffer from a lingering illness. RIP, Mimi.

I am so sorry for your loss :( :hugs:
That sounds a lot like a heart attack.... It is just like my baby Gracie :rbheart: died, and it was a heart attack. It helped me to talk to my vet about it.... He explained to me why she screamed, what happened to her heart, what happened next and so on.... I needed to understand.... Gracie had congestive heart failure due to thyroid disease.
Hang in there :hugs:

That is where part of the guilt comes from.We did not have the money to take her to the Vet as I have been unemployed for a while. We rescued Mimi, after our neighbor died in a fire.
