My cat went to the vet this week. He had been scooting, licking a lot in the last 3 weeks, hiding, not wanting to play, etc..

Mind you, we had been to the vet two other times, had cleanings, trimming... etc. He is 16.2 lbs so he can't reach perfectly so I've been doing quick wipes. The vet I went to this week actually went inside the anus (Chester was sedated) and cleaned and found dried poop.. which had been caked up there for at least two weeks we suspect. The vet said the ducts were almost shut, so every time Chester would go to the bathroom, he was likely in a lot of pain...

He cleaned it all out and put some medicine in there. Now Chester is happy again :-)

Looks like your cat has anal sac inflammation and it will get worse if you don't take her to the vet. Please get kitty to the vet ASAP :)

She just saw the vet in the last few days, and the sacs were expressed, so I doubt it's infected.  Also, we've never seen her scoot.
