Ducky is only 3 years old and  has all of those above things.     FIV positive, no teeth due to stomatitis, calicia virus, mostly deaf and is now showing symptoms of something else. She is an indoor cat.

lethargic, losing weight, generalised pain in the hind legs, front paws, hips and spine. she is also having muscle tremors in her limbs and back muscles (vibrating)    She will walk if she has to (hunched and sortof on tippy-toes), but basically just lays around.  She will eat if we bring the food to her. and she will use the litterbox if we put her in it, or if she finds the motivation (or desperateness?) to do so.

several vet visits have turned up nothing.  X-rays came back clean, and bloodwork showed no abnormalities (all her organs are functioning).

she is currently on buprenorphine and doxyxycline.

if left alone she seems to be awake and bright eyed, and only really shows sign of pain when touched in the wrong spot.

this has been going on for a few weeks now and has only marginally improved (mostly in her alertness).     Could this be a soft tissue injury? neuro/nerve problems?

i wonder if a higher dosage of pain meds would work??  can i double up her buprenorphine to .2 mls? (currently .1ml twice daily)

any ideas are appreciated! we hate to think about the inevetable since we've put so much effort into keeping her with us, shes such a loving cat and would hate to see her go like this!

Boy, poor little girl does seem down on her luck
.  Unfortunately, trying to tell you what is best for her, particularly when it comes to increasing her medication, is almost impossible, particularly when she is being seen by Vets already.  So they have her on pain pills even though they find no reason for her pain?  Is that correct?

Are you seeing a feline only specialist?  Right now, that is really my only thought...that maybe someone who specialized on CATS only might be better able to pinpoint what is going on.  Or have you tried acupuncture for the pain?  or some other holistic treatments?  Here is a website where you can look up holistic vets in your area:  http://www.ahvma.org/

Now, when you say calasia virus, do you perhaps mean calicivirus, which is otherwise known as feline herpes?   This usually manifests with Upper Respiratory Infections and/or Weepy Eye(s).  Most people treat the Weepy Eyes by putting L-Lysine in their food twice a day.  Here is just one of many, many threads on Feline Herpes:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/241158/feline-herpes-virus-fvr-advice.

Is the Stomatitis and FIV under control at the moment?  I know pulling all their teeth sometimes works, sometimes doesn't

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Awwwww.... :heart2:

At this point, I'd want to find out what's causing the pain. I absolutely agree with mrsgreenjeens. I'd be seeking a feline-only specialist or a holistic vet.

While you search for a vet that may be able to do more for her, do ensure she eats all she needs to. :rub: To treat the stomatitis, there is a specialist in Texas that will work with your local vet. I'll ask a member with the information to send you a private message with information.

Many vibes for your Ducky. :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:
