I've grown up with cats, and I just love them so much. We currently have 5 kitties. As with all kitties, each comes with their own personality. I hope you don't mind me introducing my brood!
Muffin:
Muffin is very skittish and prone to freaking out randomly. She's about 10 years old now and such a scruffy little thing. The picture doesn't do her justice, but her eyes are just lovely. Her meow sounds like "mow-wow??" She also loves rubbing her cheeks on things when you pet her.
Domino:
Domino is a real chatty cat. He's also quite the attention seeker. He's Muffin's son, and a total lap hog. There's nothing wrong with his eye (it looks black, but the iris is just really dark brown, pupil is a normal size). He has good vision in both eyes. We're not sure why the pigmentation is different, though. Domino loves tummy rubs, and is the type of cat to snag your sleeve with his paw if he thinks you're going to walk past him without giving him pets first.
Bandit:
I adopted Bandit about 4 years ago when my friend found some stray kittens by her house. Bandit loves eating grass and being out in the yard. Bandit and Domino constantly play dominance games, despite both of them being neutered. Bandit is absolutely obsessed with my hair. He'll get it twisted around his face, purr furiously, and drool all over it (he only drools when in "hair mode," so don't freak out!). He loves laser pointers, and fwapping me in the face with his tail.
Gandalf:
Gandalf is bigger than our other kitties, and very floofy. He looks fantastic now, but such wasn't always the case. He showed up one day as a stray. He was so starved that despite all his fur, I could clearly see his ribs. It was just horrible. He's a very sweet, gentle little guy. He loves being hugged and getting his tummy rubbed. He spends a lot of time in the window and has, I think, the loudest purr in the house.
Tina:
Tina is 'my' cat. She loves curling up on my desk and being held when I'm watching things on my computer. She also loves sleeping next to my pillow, as long as she can snuggle up against my arm. She's not a lap cat, but she's definitely a people kitty. She'll follow me from room to room. She has this weird quirk where she'll meow at me if I cough or sneeze. Tina is currently on meds for fluid build-up in her chest. She had an infection and got a steroid shot a little over a week ago. Unfortunately, she had a bad reaction to the steroid shot they gave her, and it caused fluid to accumulate in her chest. The pills make her really thirsty, so she'll lead me into the bathroom and squeak at me until I turn the faucet on for her. She also enjoys sleeping in windows, though she and Gandalf have had a run-in recently over who owned the window.
We're doing some home renovations, and you can see that our cats approve. Bandit not pictured.
As part of renovations, I got a new bed. I had a full-size, but switched to a twin-size. The cats don't care, but I have nights where I think I should just sleep on the floor cause there's no room left.
Thanks for reading! I'm glad I found this site.
