I found this precious cat sleeping by my deck, where I believe he may be staying up under. I woke up and saw him there and it was still there when I returned home from work. I put food out there this evening but he was no where to be found! I'm going to check on him again in the morning and hopefully figure out a way to catch him and get him to safety. I have coyotes around here especially with the warming weather and I just don't want anything to happen to this poor kitty.

Yes, help him, take him in if possible, He may be quite fresh as astray / dumped.  My resident has often this position - half "hiding" but also wanting to be petted... Scratched on the chin typically.

Good luck!

Awww.  What a sweet soul.  I hope you can find a way to help him.  I am sure he will find the food if you leave it out for him.  I would suggest not leaving it out at night as you never know what else will find the food!

YES, to the above. I completely agree that this cat needs help and fast. He may be an abandoned stray and not well. He does look to be quite thin. Most feral cats are able to care for themselves better than this unless they are very, very sick. Please do what you can to take him in. Keep us posted too. All my best to you and bless your heart. :hugs: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Unfortunately I haven't seen him since the other day! I'm a little worried but I think he'll show up again. Today we are replacing solar panels on the roof and its quite busy with workers and the noise is driving me crazy, so I don't suspect he's around today but maybe a little later or tomorrow morning. Whatever the case, I'm still on the lookout.
