So here is Lily, this pic was taken this morning. Her tummy is getting BIG. I'm starting to wonder if she is headed already to being overweight. Or, is she hitting yet another growth spurt? I say possibly growth spurt because all of a sudden her whiskers have gotten really big on her face, and her paws are getting bigger, so maybe shes about to grow(again!) She's 10 months old. Shes an extremely picky girl, and after months and months of trying the good, expensive healthiest foods, she eats Fancy Feast grilled, turkey, and turkey with cheddar grilled. And she also eats IAMS kitten hard food, and gets My little Lion treats, and temptations treats, and the GNC cat vitamins. She gets half a can of her soft Fancy Feast in the morning, and another half in the evening, and the kitten hard food is left out. Should I maybe switch to adult hard food? I'm iffy about it, because she is still technically a kitten, and its something she likes, who knows if she'd eat the adult. I just don't want Lily to have weight issues already when she enters her first birthday.

And this, is Callie.   She is approx, 1-2 years old. She was a stray, living in our woods. And she was very underweight, with short wirey hair. Now, shes filled out "some" and her hair is now smooth and soft. I think she is just naturally thinner than Lily, and will always be slightly scrawny, but she looks so much better than when I found her.

Thanks for your input :)

It's really hard to say from a picture. She does look like a bigger cat compared to door size. How much does she weigh?

It is definitely an okay time to switch her to adult food.  My vet sometimes recommends switching as early as 6 months if she thinks the cat is done growing.  If you think she is still growing and this is a spurt, the kitten food is still okay, but if you think this is only a tummy growth spurt you can DEFINITELY switch her to adult.  You should be switching her no latter than her first birthday anyhow.

I do think she looks big.  As vball91 says it is hard to tell for sure from the pic. If she has a waist from the top is a better indication.

ETA: Also you don't say how many treats per day you are giving her but cutting down on those is an easy way to cut calories.
